Can I Get Hearing Aids On Finance?

With new hearing aid technologies, you can now choose from non-visible devices to ones with add-on features such as wireless connectivity. While having a quality hearing aid that fits your lifestyle is crucial, you’re probably wondering how much it all costs. But have no fear! Financing options can help cover your hearing care needs and treatment purchases. Here are three ways to finance hearing aids.

Free Hearing Aids from the NHS

The National Health Service (NHS) provides free hearing aids if a hearing assessment shows that you could benefit from a hearing aid. You will need your general practitioner to refer you to complete the hearing assessment with an NHS service located in health centres or hospitals. In some areas, private clinics will carry out the required hearing test.

Although free, your hearing aid options are limited. NHS generally prescribes digital and behind-the-ear hearing aid designs.

Payment Options at Clinics like ours

Some clinics, like ours here at Pindrop Hearing, offer financing options for your hearing aid purchases. Make sure to ask your chosen Audiologist or hearing care professional if they have any payment plans available to help you cover your costs. Here are some examples of available payment options:

  • Credit Agreement: the clinic offers interest-bearing credit so you can pay off your hearing aid costs over 12, 24, 36, or 48 months.
  • Interest-Free Credit: you can spread your payments over a period of typically six months interest-free.
  • Buy Now Pay Later: similar to interest-free credit, except the cost of your purchase is put into a payment plan. In this payment plan, you pay equal amounts each month over a specific duration.

Here at Pindrop Hearing we offer interest free finance 0.0% APR over 3, 6, 10, 11, 12 months and interest bearing finance at 9.9% APR over 24 and 36 months. Customers must give a 20% deposit upfront.

Hearing Aid Grants

Unlike a loan, grants are funds that you do not have to pay back. However, most grants require you to meet certain eligibilities to receive funding. The UK has multiple hearing loss grants for you to explore. These include:

  • Access to Work: for people 16 and over who are trying to start work, stay in work, start a business, or move into self-employment
  • Veterans Hearing Fund: for people serving or who have served in the Armed Forces
  • Disabled Students’ Allowance: for health conditions students incur due to disability
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB): for people with hearing difficulties due to a work incident
